Over the past weekend, Pine Tree High School's SkillsUSA chapter participated in the District 5 SkillsUSA competition held across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The event drew students from across northeastern Texas and marked a significant success for Pine Tree High School. Numerous students earned medals and progressed to the state level in various categories. These competitions encompassed a wide range of events, including skilled and technical contests, leadership development activities, demonstrations, and job exhibit projects. Here are the outcomes from the competition:

In addition to these competitive events, the following student Job Exhibit projects were awarded a Blue Ribbon, the highest rating awarded to student projects, which also qualifies these projects for state competition.
Automotive projects include Jeronimo Galvan, Aiden Alvey, Kenny Redfern, Alexis Klein, Cesia De Los Santos, Abraham Perales, Sadie Coker, Kayden Mondragon, Nathan Culajay, Josue Roque, and Mateo Graugnard.
Welding projects include Abraham Perales, Aaron Tello, Isaac Velasquez, Eugenio Cerda,Caleb Rincom, and Alex Venagas.
Culinary projects include Commercial Baking 1 to 2 Tier - Brooklyn Stafford, Audrey Jenkins, Gracelynn Ray; and Commercial Baking 3 to 5 Tier - Paisley Dean, Yadira Villegas, Eduardo Osuna, Olivia Sessions, and Korey Morehouse.
Carpentry projects include Amy Castillo, Luis Retana, Jonathan Paz, Abraham Perales, Kenny Redfern II, Dax McCain, Cuauhtemoc Juarez, Aaron Tello, Christopher Solorzano, Omar Aguilar, David Rodriguez, and Kameron Horton.
The PTHS SkillsUSA chapter is coached by Mark Thomas (Welding), Bryan Brown (Automotive), Jamie Hudman (Culinary Arts), and Chuck Davis (Carpentry). The State SkillsUSA Competition is April 3-6 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
