Location: Pine Tree ISD, Longview, TX

Position Overview:

Pine Tree High School will have an opening for a Welding Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This individual will join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) team to teach courses within the Texas Welding CTE Program of Study, including Introduction to Welding, Welding I, Welding II, and Practicum in Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be skilled in preparing students for post-secondary success and industry certifications, with a strong emphasis on building relationships with local industry partners.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Instruct students in welding techniques, safety procedures, and manufacturing processes as part of the Texas Welding CTE Program of Study.
Prepare students for American Welding Society (AWS) certifications, including SENSE, D9.1, and D1.1 certifications.
Develop hands-on, project-based learning experiences that enhance students’ welding skills and technical knowledge.
Establish and maintain partnerships with local manufacturing, welding, and fabrication industries to support student learning and workforce opportunities.
Collaborate with the CTE department and faculty to co-advise the high school SkillsUSA chapter.
Ensure the safety and maintenance of welding equipment and classroom facilities.
Provide regular feedback and mentorship to students regarding their academic and professional development.
Maintain an “all in” attitude - when everyone helps a little, the biggest challenges can be overcome!
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ability to obtain certification (preferred).
Experience teaching high school welding or agricultural mechanics (preferred).
Strong understanding of welding safety standards and industry practices.
Passionate about teaching and mentoring high school students with excellent communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with industry professionals and community partners.
